I'VE FINALLY QUIT IT

People say ' a quitter is never a winner '......true enough for most occasions, but this time, I have quit and I do emerge as a winner.

Yes, I have finally quit smoking. Something that I wanna do for a long long time. Being a smoker myself for a damn 15 years ( I'm now 30, gosh..... that's is actually half of my lifetime ) there were several times that I've tried to quit but somehow rather the urge to light up keeps on pulling me back to this same old habit. Not this time u damn ciggies!......hehe, this time I know it's for real.

How I started smoking?? At first, it was out of mere curiosity, wondering how cigarettes taste like. I was just Form 4 during that time. Cigarettes were easily available n it can be sold in loose sticks ( back then it costs only 25cents a stick ). At that moment, I was telling myself that it was just one stick, how much damage could it be. Well I do agree that one stick of cigarette may not cause much damage but sooner than I realise that the urge grew stronger day by day and never in my wildest dream that I will hooked to it for bloody long years. I guess this is the same old story that every smoker gonna tell u huh??.....hehe

SMOKING...... What do u gain from it? For those who says that u don't gain anything at all, well..... you're wrong. Spoken from experience, u do gain a feeling of satisfaction while puffing away every single stick, thanks to the substance called nicotine in the cigarettes. What else do we gain, hmm.........let me think, something that we smokers ( ooops......I mean you smokers out there ) know of, ( but still pretending though they don't exist ) such as cancers, higher risk of heart attack, stroke and for lady smokers out there, it can harm your unborn babies too. I am no experts but I do know that there are appoximately 4000 chemicals in cigarettes, ( hundreds of them are harmful toxics ) that can affect everything from the internal fuctioning of organs to the efficiency of the body's immune system.

In short, cigarettes are destructive! Every stick that u light up can shorten your life span for 4 minutes. Think of how much time u have lost ( it doesn't take a Math genius to do the calculations). Those precious time that u could have spend with ur family n love ones. It's never too late to quit. Procastination is never the answer to it. Decide to quit and work on it. Do it for the sake of ur family n love ones. Do it today, do it now, do it from this single minute.

p/s I have QUIT smoking n feel proud of it. To those relative of mine who is reading this article, please keep to yourself about me being an ex-smoker. No point talking about my past. The most important thing here is I have quit. TQ. ( Decide to quit but don't know how??....Find out more @ http://quitsmoking.about.com/ )
