TRUE MEANING OF MARRIAGE

What is the true meaning of MARRIAGE ? Is it merely a signed document between two lovers pledging their commitments to each other?

In the first place, why people get married? Can't they just stay together and remain as couple? Is it because of the desire to have children or perhaps is it merely to please their parents? Probably its the tradition / perception that a steady relationship should moves on to the next level, which is MARRIAGE!!

Some people take MARRIAGE as a blessing, some people take MARRIAGE as a destiny. Some people freaked out when they hear these words, some people look at it as a suicidal choice while for some, a curse!

GOSH!!!....... I'm lost!!! I guess MARRIAGE has a different meaning for different people after all.

Me??........ You mean how I define MARRIAGE??...... MARRIAGE is a signed contract with vows that a couple made, pledging that they will love and be faithful to one another, stay together through sickness or health, for better or worse and it's meant to be a lifetime promise.

Lovely answer isn't it ( I actually googled it.....hehe ). I believe everyone would like hear or see a happy lasting marriage to happen but I guess life is not so perfect after all. The phrase "living happily ever after" will soon be heard only in fairy tales because in real life, it is in the midst of extinction.

Is not that I'm being pessimistic but recently, I have heard and seen friends around me, be it male or female friends, one after another are going through separation or divorce. But the saddest thing is some of them are just married not long ago, around a year or two.

Why MARRIAGE is so fragile nowadays?? Is it because we are taking MARRIAGE just like any other contract??....... A contract that can be made null or void whenever we don't like?? Please take note that this is no ordinary contract.

It probably requires a special recipe to make a long lasting and happy MARRIAGE. I hope the recipe below may actually help to achieve that.

But having a recipe alone is not enough unless both are willing to put in efforts and sacrifices to make it work, as the saying goes "it takes both hands to clap". I hope with your patience and determination, you will be able to 'cook out' a great MARRIAGE. I wish I can too ;)
